(I know Maxwell has its own site.) They might be able to point you in the right direction. If they have a phone number it might be quicker.
Good luck. Yes, the wrong tartan would be a huge insult! I'm going to have get in touch with my uncle who has researched our history back a few hundred years and see if he'll be able to point in the right direction as far as the correct tartan. I'd hate to use the wrong tartan on my layout!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3448888310414144215.post-23790488300758249732008-04-02T12:29:00.000-04:002008-04-02T12:29:00.000-04:00I know what you mean. That looks as if it might be better!

As for clan name...on my grandfather's father side it's Howie from the sept (or sect, I'm not sure which word he was actually saying. Scottish accent and the phone aren't always easy to understand certain words!)of McDonald. On his mom's side, her father is a Rae.

I'm off to see if I can find my tartans. When I was living in Europe, my grandfather (who was born and raised in Scotland) came back to Scotland and my family met up with him there. It was so special for me to be able to see where he grew up, the houses that he lived in, the places he played and to see Scotland "through" him. What better way than through a Scotsman! His birthday is tomorrow, so this comes at the perfect time! I will have to scan some of those pictures since they are from 1992! What a great birthday present this will be for him. Thank you so very much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
