Ok, here is something a little unique you may like. This is the Rolodex Template.

The idea behind this is that you can "scrap" your contacts. You can add a photo or avitar and write in all the contact information. Then you can either store it on your computer as a slide show OR you can print them out and make your own Rolodex file for yourself or a friend.

It is getting closer and closer to Christmas. I'm working hard to keep up the holiday freebies, but work is hectic right now. We are trying to get all our paying clients taken care of before the gym closes.

I'm also starting to date again and I'm finding it hard to find the time to get my digital scrapbooking designs out of my head and onto the computer. Honestly, I'm not thinking too much about the designs at all! *grin* Seven years out of the loop and I am in a candy store now! LOL

What would Christmas be without Christmas cookies? I remember that was part of the holiday ritual at our house when I was growing up. I loved to bake and so we would have tons of cookies!

The Angel Cookie Collection is a tribute to those happier times in my life. I look back on those days and sometimes wish I could go back and re-do some of the wrong turns I took in my life.

But then I look at my son and realize without some of those turns, I wouldn't have him. So that makes THAT part of it worth the while!

Now I just have to find what makes THIS part of it worth the while!!! Maybe the trips to Hawaii and Europe!!! LOL

An Update On Me

So many of you have continued to show concern for me and for my situation. I appreciate your inquires into how I am doing! It is so comforting to know that complete strangers wish you well.! It makes the mean and deceitful people seem petty in comparison to those with kind hearts!

The latest update in the saga that is my life is not a good one. The company I have worked for since moving to Florida in 2002, Bally Total Fitness, declared bankruptcy. It announced on Wednesday that it would close 20 locations nationwide.

One of those 20 locations is the club where I work. On January 9, 2009 I will no longer have a job. And since my ex finace' isn't around anymore, and since he took 3/4 of my savings when he left, I find myself in a huge bind.

I have taught fitness classes for the last 10 years. Now it appears I will have to put that on hold so that I can get a job that pays full time. I have to pay my bills. Then, if I can fit a class or two a week into that schedule I will try to find an opening at another club.

This, on top of what has already happened is certainly a lot to have to bear. I am so grateful to all my friends (at work as well as here on the internet.) I know that I have people who are concerned about me and my welfare helping me to look for job openings in the area.

I am trying to be upbeat about this whole thing. Everyone says that I am better off without that worthless SOB I thought was my friend and my soulmate. He was only holding me back!!!

A couple of days ago I offered the Fish Bone Kit and the add on to it. In this kit I had a bow I made using a CU freebie from Delicious Scraps.

After I made that kit I started playing around with the bow and some effects in Paint Shop Pro. The result of that experimenting is today's freebie: Fancy Bows.

I am including some extra large close ups of the detail of these bows so you can see how really neat they turned out. Delicious Scraps did an excellent job of designing the CU bow template!

Remember, if you don't like something about the template you can always change it.

When I use the word TITLE instead of making one up myslf I am doing that so you can go in and have the template say whatever you like.

I keep the layer so that you can overwrite the word TITLE. When I do this I have to use a font that everyone has on their computer or when someone goes in to change the title it will revert to a default font.

When I make the title up myself and change it to a regular layer on the template it means that particular font will remain on the template even if you don't have it on your computer.

So if you don't like the fonts on these templates in this series then you can change them to ones you like.

Carolina Hurricanes Fire Stanley Cup Winning Coach

Yes, it was coming for a while. Many thought he would be out in the off season, but NO ONE thought we would rehire the coach we fired to hire this guy we are firing now in the first place!

Five years after Paul Maurice was fired as head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, he is rehired to lead the team out of their current slump. Go ahead and just shoot me now!

On an upbeat note, Ron Francis, Hockey Hall of Fame member and former Hurricanes star, will be the associate coach.

The good news is that Ron Francis is a cutie! LOL

As this Thanksgiving comes around I find myself in a very strange position. My seven + year relationship with someone I thought was a decent and caring man crumbled to dust in the span of four short months. This man was my best friend. However, I have never been betrayed this badly by anyone in my life...and my life has not been without its tragedies.

So at Thanksgiving I am asking myself what do I have to be thankful for? Well I can honestly say that there was some good to come out of all the pain and misery. Before this happened I would have said I don't really have any friends. I know people, but I don't go out or socialize with them and we don't talk for hours on end on the phone at night.

But when this upheaval occured I discovered that there are many, many people who care about what happens to me. People at work I thought were just my clients were actually deeply hurt that I was in pain. Several people I thought barely knew me have told me how much I mean to them.

And then there is the internet. I tried really hard not to go into details about this whole ordeal because I did not want my blog to become a bitter place that no one wanted to visit...even if I was giving away stuff for free.

I did mention something when it all happened because I knew my writing would reflect the sadness of my life. What no one knows is that for the last two months I had been trying with every ounce of by being to show my fiance' how much he was loved and how deeply I cared. This was based on why he told me he had left in the first place. He said he felt I didn't love him anymore.

He basiclly let me make a fool of myself the entire four months because there has been another woman and he, while telling me he loved me and wanted to make it work out and moving back in with me in September, was in the process of becoming engaged to her. Yes, we were both wearing his ring at the same time. And he was probably telling us both the same thing: "I love you." I slowly found out what was going on and two weeks ago I told him to leave.

Because he couldn't be a man and tell me the truth from the very beginning, he was a coward. He made me believe that we were going to be ok. If he had just left and said "I've met someone else" then it would have saved me these two months of torment and pain. I honestly believed he wanted us to work things out. Yes, he even made love to me during this time.

How cruel humans can be to one another.

But back to what I was saying about the internet...there are so many of you out there who have stopped by to wish me well (four months ago when I first mentioned this and also now.) People who never visited my site before are saying they are praying for me to feel better.

How wonderful humans can be to one another.

So at Thanksgiving I have decided instead of feeling sorry for myself that some fool hurt me so badly, I am going to be thankful for my true friends who genuinely put themselves before me. A couple of you know who you are...you have heard every detail at least 10 times! But you never tell me, "You said that already." You just listen, and hold me and love me.

I can not thank you enough, so instead I am thanking God on your behalf.

Ok, enough with the sob story....this should be a happy time. So here is today's freebie. It is very small but it comes from the heart. Here is the Holiday Turkey Frame.

Friday Freebie: Clipper Ship Elements

The idea for this digital scrapbooking freebie came to me when I saw these old fashioned tall ship drawings. I love this particular motif and wanted to try and offer it in a form that was usable.

I used the picture frame option on the image tab in Paint Shop Pro to get the tape and background effect. You could mount your photos in the same manner on your layout and they would match the elements.

I hope you can use these Clipper Ship Elements.

Now that the NASCAR season is officially over and we are waiting on the results of the Chex Most Popular Driver Award, it is time to place your vote for the 2009 NHL All Star Team.

Ok, so let's say you have no idea about hockey and you really could care less. Ok, I accept that. Here's my point of view: I am more than happy to design digital scrapbooking things and giving them away free. I really enjoy it. I ask for nothing in return.

Well, now I am asking something. I would really love to see my favorite player, Rod Brind'Amour, make the team. And since this is all about fan voting, I'd like to ask you to take the time while your freebie is downloading and click on the link in my sidebar and vote for him.

It is really simple and you can vote every day. He is listed under the Eastern Conference as a forward. I'm pretty sure you have to vote for all postions so you can just pick a neat sounding hockey name for any of the other players. It really isn't all that hard.

Hockey Bear Set Add On Freebie

Here is the second half of the hockey freebie I offered yesterday. This is the Hockey Bear Set Add On.

As promised, here are the numbers you can use to honor your favorite star! Just use the ones I made up (zero to nine) or you can take the bear from yesterday's Hockey Bear Set and add the stand alone numbers from today's add on and make whatever number you need.

Realize that the numbers and the bear are made using the watercolor script in Paint Shop Pro and are supposed to be a little "blurry" for effect. The tag also has a slight blurred effect. So there is nothing wrong with the download! LOL

I hope these and my other hockey freebies have filled a hole that was out there for digi scrappers with hockey needs!

More Hockey Freebies: Hockey Bear Set

There was much intrest in another hockey type of download amongst my faithful few. So I have designed a whimisal kit with a hockey theme.

This will go just super with the Mites or Pee Wees. Even female hockey players might like this. In case it isn't "tough enough" for the older boys, there are some textured papers and tags that might go well with their photos.

Here is the first part of the Hockey Bear Set. Look for the add on tomorrow. The add on will include a set of numbers you can use "as is" or create your own to match the number of your favorite player!

Day 2 Hockey Request: Hockey Papers Freebie

I'm offering another hockey themed digital scrapbooking freebie today. I try very hard to fulfill as many requests as my talent can offer. Sometimes someone will ask for something and I just do not know how to design something like that.

My apologies for anyone who can't use this Hockey Paper download because the colors aren't right for their team!! If you have enough experience in your scrapbooking program you can use the magic wand and delete the background color and add your own.

If you don't know how to do what I am saying then email me at the link in my sidebar and I can walk you through the directions.

It was my intention to put some neutral colors in the pack so that you could at least use some of the papers.

A while back, when I was complaining about not getting a lot of traffic on my blog, someone asked for more hockey themed scrap offerings. Today's freebie, the Hockey Alphabet, is in response to that request.
As you can tell from my blog, I am a huge Carolina Huricanes fan since the days I used to work for their orginazation back in the early 2000s. My favorite player is Rod Brind'Amour! He is one good looking man (in a rugged, man-with-a-stick kind of way!!!)

This alphabet is really a 2-for-1 deal because I added in the plain letters (not attached to the hockey puck) in case you aren't a hockey fan. That way, you can still use the alphabet.

Now More Than Ever: A Big Incentive To Vote

As if you didn't need a reason to execute your Constitutional right as an American to elect the leader of your country by placing your vote on Tuesday, Novermber 4, 2008.
Here is what may be the deciding factor for some of you...

Krispy Kreme wants your vote! Actually, the company doesn't care who you vote for as long as you vote. On November 4, locations around the country will be handing out free star-shaped donuts with red, white and blue sprinkles to anyone with an "I voted" sticker (we're guessing other proof may be allowed, in case your polling place is out of stickers). The effort is non-partisan, so don't worry about one of the candidates forking over a wad of leftover campaign money in some kind of weird get-out-the-vote effort. This is just about Krispy Kreme trying to get some foot traffic of its own.

Halloween Kit Freebie

Well, it certainly got chilly here in Florida! I love it. Now don't get me wrong...anything colder than it is right now and I don't think I'd like that.

That's one reason why fall is my favorite time of the year: it is cooler but not freezing cold. I hope this stays this way at least until Halloween because we are spending my birthday at Disney Hollywood Studios (formerly known as Disney MGM.)

We hate going to the theme parks in the summer when it is so hot you are miserable all day. One year we were at Universal Studios and it was so cold there was hardly anyone there at all.

We had gone that late in the year because we wanted to see the Macy's Parade. Well we had no lines in any of the rides because most people stayed away until later in the afternoon towards time for the parade. It was like having the park as a private playground!

Anyway...enough about that (can't you tell I'm excited about the cooler weather??!!) If you have managed to keep reading this far down then you get to download todays's digital scrapbooking freebie: the Halloween Kit!

Dracula Template is Last Freebie In Monster Template Series

Here is the sixth of my Monster Template Series. I love these movies and it has been my pleasure to introduce (or re-introduce) them to you.

Today's Monster Template is the Dracula Template and it features Bela Lugosi as the infamous vampire. There have been many versions of Dracula but nothing beats this one from 1931!

Monster Template Series #5: Phantom of the Opera

Some people may not consider The Phantom of the Opera a Halloween horror movie (especially if they have only seen the 2004 version.)

However, back in 1925, Lon Chaney made a slient version of Phantom of the Opera and if this isn't a scarry Halloween monster then I don't know what is. The tag line when this movie was released was, "The greatest horror film of modern cinema!"

Today's digital scrapbooking freebie uses Chaney's image from the 1925 film and the "logo" from the 2004 version. Here is the Phantom of the Opera Template.

By the way, the Lon Chaney in this template is the father of the Lon Chaney in the Wolf Man Template.

Creature From the Black Lagoon

In my post for my Creature Feature Template I mentioned the film Creature from the Black Lagoon was made at Silver Springs, Fl. Someone wrote me a note on 4 Shared saying it was filmed in Wakulla Springs.

Well, according to IMDB the moive was actually filmed in multiple locations!

Did You Miss These Before?

Way back in August I offred a collection of Curled Ribbons. I used a CU template from Scrap N Tag and designed 33 ribbons using the sculpture effect in Paint Shop Pro.

This was a really neat set of elements but it only got 47 downloads. I think this happened because the preview wasn't the best in the world. So I have decided to put this back out there and highlight more of the ribbons in a bigger format so you can see some of the detail.

I hope this is just something that got overlooked and that you will blow the roof off of this download!!!!!

Wolf Man Template Freebie

As Halloween gets closer and closer, I am continuing to offer spooky freebies! I figure Halloween is a major picture taking time with all the costumes and parties so you will need a lot of digital scrapbooking elements, templates and what not.
Here is the fourth in my Monster Template Series. It is the Wolf Man Template featuring Lon Chaney, Jr as the Wolf Man (1941.)

This was always one of my favorites when we got to stay up and watch the Halloween Spooktacular special on tv when I was a child. It may look a little goofy to a grown up, but it was certainly "the real thing" to a 10 year old! We were so naive back then!

I used a pentagram border because it was the shape of the pentagrm in the palm of your hand that signified you would become a werewolf! Ha...caught you looking at your own palm, huh? LOL

I also used some vines for the frames to represent the wolfbane (acutally wolfsbane) mentioned in the poem from the movie. The vines don't actually look like wolfsbane, but give me a little poetic license here if you will!!!

Besides, you're still trying to get a glimpse of your neighbor's palm to check for that pentagram, aren't you LOL

I'm starting my Halloween templates today. The series is entitled Monster Template Series and it contains 6 famous monsters.

As usual I am including both the Paint Shop Pro version, as well as the Photoshop version of each template in its daily zip.

The first entry in this new series is called Our Little Monster and features Boris Karloff as Frankenstein. This is such a classic movie. If you haven't watched THIS version then you REALLY should!
When my son was about 13 we rented this version of Frankenstein along with the comedy version made in 1974, Young Frankenstein . We watched them back to back and I was able to show my son WHY Young Frankenstein was so funny.

Yes, even on its own that movie is halarious. BUT, if you know exactly WHY you are laughing at something it makes it even funnier. My son was able to see the original dramatic scene in Frankenstein and then see the way they made fun of it in Young Frankenstein.

It was a great "family time" activity and every year at this time he will mention something about it in passing (and that was 8 years ago) That shows me he really enjoyed what we did together.

This series contains overlays of the creatures so you don't have to worry about coloring them in exactly. These movies were made in black and white so to me the true Frankenstein or Dracula is a black and white monster! LOL

I hope you can make some cool layouts with these templates in this series! Please let me see what you come up with.

Stupid 4 Shared...

Is it just me or am I crazy? I actually opened my 4 Shared page today and saw my Ghouls freebie. I saw it has been downloaded and someone left me a comment. I read the comment. (I'm glad you like the gray lace.)

Then poof, the entire file is gone without a trace. All in the course of 10 minutes or so. What is that all about? I didn't do a single thing but try to access it from my post and it said it was invalid. I went to the 4 Shared site and it wasn't even in my list of offerings anymore.

Has anyone else had anything similar happen to them recently? Is this a glitch in the system? I've never experienced the file just vanishing off my list before.

The last time I had a 4 Shared issue the file was saying it was invalid even though it had been downloaded almost 400 times. But the invalid file was still in my list of things I had uploaded.

Any insight into this would certainly be nice. Thanks!
