Another Hockey Loss

Oh well. I am disappointed once again by my hockey team. But I'm not giving up on them. The season is long and every team struggles during the year. Hopefully we can get past this slump we are in right now! Go Canes!

Workout Kit Freebie

Here it is! The freebie kit I promised. There are many ways to use the items in this kit. Put the embellishments on the pages of your food diary or use the wordart on your fridge or bathroom mirror. Think of creative ways to get these visuals in front of you to help you stay motivated. The main thing to remember is that you are not doing this alone! Millions of people struggle with their weight everyday (including me.) Look for encouragement where you can . I'll be happy to help as much as possible. Freebie All In One

Ok, since I am a fitness instructor you know I am in "fitness mode" this time of year. Although New Year's resolutions aren't for a few more weeks (usually made under less than sober circumstances a couple of minutes after midnight on Dec 31) I have decided to help give you guys a head start.

In the next couple of days I will be posting my Workout Kit. This kit was designed to help give you the most visual motivation you can get. The All In One page is a beginning and an end. Take a photo of yourself (if you are like me I never wanted to be in the picture because of my weight.) Put the photo in the layout and put the link somewhere on your desktop. Everytime you see that file sitting there it will remind you that you have one more picture to take when you reach your goal.

You can even make more than 1 layout and visually chart your progress. Believe me, once you start to see improvement you will be so psyched!

I hope this gives you the motivation you need to get in shape! Remember we can't all be skinny! But we can all work toward a healthier and happier life!

The Workout Kit itself will be posted later this week. I'll discuss then about how you can use it to help you get going!

Carolina Hurricanes Get A Shutout

After an embarrassing loss in Buffalo on Saturday night the Carolina Hurricanes beat the NY Rangers tonight. That's the beauty of hockey. One night you stink up the place and the next game you get a shutout.

Gonna Try Again Tonight

I'm goning to watch the Carolina Hurricanes hockey game tonight against the NY Rangers. I guess I'll have to wear my lucky socks or something this time!

Why Hockey?

Some people have been asking me why I am so "into" hockey, especially if I am originally from North Carolina. Well, to make a long story short, I used to work at the RBC Center (when it was called the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena) for 3 years when it first opened. That is the home of the Carolina Hurricanes.

I knew nothing about hockey but I was always a big sports fan. As I worked at the arena, I began to pick up on the intricacies of the sport. It was way different from anything I was accustomed to seeing.

What KEPT me hooked was what I follow as a general rule: I first begin pulling for the team with the good looking guys! If you have any doubts about the Carolina Hurricanes, just look at the picture attached to this post. That's our team captain, Rod Brind'Amour. There are also a bunch of other hotties on the team! By the way, for those of you who don't know, he's holding the Stanley Cup. That's the Holy Grail of Hockey. Carolina won it in 2006!

New Freebie Kit!

Check out my new Flamingo Kit. This kit is a companion to the Florida Template I posted yesterday. I had been invisioning something like this for awhile, but I hadn't quite advanced far enough to actually design it in the computer. I'm really having a blast creating things. Hopefully as I go my style/work will get more and more artistic. My favorite part of the kit is the palm tree stamp. The template for it and the button came from The Ephemeral Victorian.

And the Good News Is...

Well, I watched the whole game last night. I did have to mute the sound. The good news is we weren't shut out! With 2 minutes left we scored a goal. So it was only an 8-1 loss. Trust me, 8 goals in one hockey game is like 100 points in basketball. OUCH.

Just Kill Me Now

Man, the Carolina Hurricanes are killing me here. 4-0 and it is only 2/3 way thru the game. This is when it is so hard to be a true fan. To watch your team self destruct is very trying! Oh well. This is supposed to be the number one team in their division. My question is this: how bad are the rest of the teams?

FREEBIE: Florida Template

For those of you who have come to Florida just to visit Disney World, you'll be suprised to know that Disney World is not the only attrraction in the state! Here is a template freebie that the OTHER zillion tourists to Florida can use for digital scrapbooking. Pick up the Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop template. Once again I used The Ephemeral Victorian for help. This time it was the sticky note.

Also be on the lookout for a new kit that coordinates with this template. I know some of you like to design your own pages without the help of a template. Me, I like to do both. Just depends on which mood I'm in. I think I am challeneged more when I have a template to work with because I want my finished layout to be so unique. It's fun to see the totally diferent directions that people take with the same beginning.

By the way, I want to post your layouts with my templates so please let me know if you would like to see your creations on my website. Thanks!

Hey, it wasn't too pretty but the Carolina Hurricanes won! We'll take it. Just like Rod Brind'Amour's goal that was actually knocked in by Washington's Alexander Ovechkin.
