Houston Template is Freebie For Monday

For all of you Texans (or wanna be Texans) here is the Houston Template. The Texas Template was by far the most popular of my State Template Series templates so I am sure this template will be popular too.

I used an old wild west "wanted poster" as the background for this template. To get the faded paper look you can go to effects>texture effects>sculpture>and pick a parchment style pattern to make the paper look authenic. If you don't have a pattern like that, here is a parchment paper clipart that you can save to your patterns folder either in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop.

It's really easy to use this particular effect and if the paper is right it will show the different shades of the wanted poster. If your paper is too "busy" (has too many crinkles in it) then it might not let the darker area of the background show against the lighter area. If this happens, choose another pattern and try again.

Here's another layout by catmanor. I think I am seeing a pattern here...once someone uses one of these templates, they get hooked because they really are so much fun to work with. The creative possibilities are endless!

Connecticut Template Freebie

Only one more in the State Template Series after today. It seems like just yesterday that Pat from Houston asked me to make a Texas template like the North Carolina template I had posted.

Today's State Template Series freebie is the Connecticut template. This was another state that was difficult to pin down on a template so I decided to go with simplicity this time. I added the brackets so that you could put your journaling in them.

My Templates Will Now Be Available in Microsoft Digital Image Pro

Today I got an email from Lisa Minor over at Oscrapmomo's Place and she asked me if I would be willing to let her convert my templates from Photo Shop and Paint Shop Pro to Microsoft Digital Image Pro.

Some of her "DIPpers" as they call themselves had asked her if she would get my permission to put my templates into a fromat that they could use.

I was thrilled to be asked to share my work with even more people! This is so much fun! I enjoy doing this little bit of designing!

Lisa is swamped with other things right now, but she promises to get to the templates as soon as she can. The first template requested was the Texas template. The DIP link is at the bottom of this post.

So here is how we are going to handle this...the link to the templates in DIP format will be available on my website as Lisa gets around to converting them. The links will not be the current download for the day because she will not be getting the template until I post it. But I will post seperate entries with DIP in the title when she sends me the files. Hopefully Google will pick up on the DIP reference. Also, you can come to my blog daily to see if there are any new DIP downloads for you.

There is one stipulation to doing this for you...will you please leave me a comment, an email or a Cbox entry letting me know you got the DIP download. We will need to see if anyone is actually downloading the templates and since you will pull this directly off my blog (and not thru 4 Shared) we need to keep track ourselves!

Texas Template Layout

Over at Make it Scrappy, Betty_boop took my Texas template and changed it to fit her personality. The result is outstanding! Check out her work and see what kit she used, Maybe those elements will work for your layout.

This just goes to show you that you can change anything you'd like on the template or you can just use it "as is." It isn't going to bother me if you get a little creative.

Template Schedule

Ok, so far I have a total of 8 states and 2 foreign countries on my "to do" list. Make sure you add your requests in the comments either here or on 4 Shared and I will add you to the list. As I get the requests I add that state to the list. There is no particular order. I am doing states first and then the countries.

Already uploaded are North Carolina, Texas and Georgia.

Tomorrow I will upload California.

P.S. Texas is kicking NC's butt right now (see this post if you don't know what I mean.) But I think there are a few more people living in Texas than in North Carolina! But that is no excuse, NC! Get off you rear end and download our state! LOL

By Request: Texas Template Freebie

Never let it be said that I don't aim to please! When Pat from Houston jokingly asked when I was going to make a Teaxs template I thought that since I had lived in Texas at one point I would need something for future layouts.

But then I went hunting for photos of my time in Texas and couldn't hardly find any that hadn't already been paper scrapped. My ex was stationed with the Army at Ft. Hood and we moved to Killeen when our son was 3 months old. A few years ago I made a baby scrapbook for my son and all the good pictures of that time frame are already in use.

This picture was taken at a park near our apartment in Killeen. As you can see, my son (who is 20 now) was just a little baby! Unbelievable how fast they grow!

So here is the Texas Template. Let's see which downloads the most times...the North Carolina template or the Texas template!
