Munich Template For Today's Freebie

Here is the second of three German cities requested in a row for the Major Cities of the World Template Series. Look for another one later in the series.

The Munich Template features the cover of a book by Sasek called This is Munich. I just loved the man on the cover so I thought I would feature the whole book.

Freebie: Nurnberg Template

Today's freebie for your digital scrapbooking is the Nurnberg (Nuremberg) Template. No matter how you spell it or how it is pronounced, there is no denying that the city is full of history!

Nurnberg dates back to the Middle Ages and has a famous walled city that surrounds Nurnberg Castle. Nurnberg was also the site of the Nurnberg Trials after World War 2.

When my ex and I lived in Germany, we went to Nurnberg to the Christkindlesmarkt . It is like a huge crafts exhibit with tons and tons of Christmas stuff! It is situated in the town square in the shadow of the great church, Liebfrauenkirche.

Nurnberg is truly one of Germany's jewels! I consider myself very lucky to have been able to travel there while my ex and I were stationed in Germany with the US Army.

Cancun Template Freebie Today

As we move along with the Major Cities of the World Template Series we come to the Cancun Template. For those of you keeping track, this is the 8th template in this series.

If you can't quite place where Cancun is without a map, it is part of Mexico (on the Yucatan penninsula) and is located in the Caribbean. Lots of cruise ships have a port of call in Cancun.

The template has an overlay (sometimes it is the easiest way to get a huge element on the page without it over powering the entire layout.)

The "sun" in this template is actually the seal of the city and it can be moved on the template if you want to color it so that the 3 elements all show...land, sea and air. If not, you can color it just as a sun and use it as a sort of "insider's symbol" of both the city and the sun itself.

Tomorrow I will take a break from this series to offer the Father's Day Template. I think you will really like it! Then on Monday it is back to this series with the first of several German cities in a row with Nurnberg. (Remember, I am offering these in the order in which they were requested so I am jumping all over the place.)

Las Vegas Template Freebie

Here is today's Major Cities of the World Template Series freebie: the Las Vegas Template.

If you are familar with Las Vegas history, you will recognize Vegas Vic on this template.

Once again today's template will go great with its State Template Series counterpart, the Nevada template. Sometimes the state template is too general, but in the last few days they have fit right in with the cities you have requested.

Look for my Father's Day Template to come out this weekend so that you can get a head start on your layouts for Dear Old Dad!

Junior Nation Amp Radio Spot

Here is the Publix radio spot that has the jingle "Junior Nation" on it. I hadn't heard it on the station that I listen to but one of my Pilates clients told me about it.

I had to email the raido station she listens to (which is an urban music station) and get them to send me a link to it. I don't think I could have listened to that station until I heard the jingle!!!! It just isn't my type of music.

Use this template with the Massachusetts Template from my State Template Series. The images are similar and wil make a neat 2 page layout.

The Old North Church layer is an overlay so you can leave it as is or play with the effects and come up with something unusual.

New York City Template Freebie

If you have been following my template series, you'll know that I have a New York template in the State Template Series. Now there is also a template for the City of NY.

The New York City Template can be combined with elements of the New York State template if you would like, or you can do a "double page" layout using both templates.

I made sure not to use duplicate images on both of the templates just in case you wanted to use them together.

Just a reminder, the time limit for requesting cities has passed. So the series will end at 46 templates (for those of you keeping track.)

Here is an absolutely wonderful example of why we scrap (digi or paper.) It is for family memories like this to be passed on to future generations.

Here is the story behind the layout:

TV announcer: "He shoots! He scores!"

LPF (~ 1-2 yo, looks up from her playing): "Score Bobby Orr!"

Dad: "No, honey. Score (Ken Hodge / Wayne Cashman / Other Hockey Player)."

LPF (arms raised in celebration): "Score Bobby Orr!"

Dad: "No, no. Not Score Bobby Orr. Score (Ken Hodge/Wayne Cashman /Other Hockey Player)."

LPF (excitedly): "Score Bobby Orr!" “Score! Bobby Orr!”

Dad (laughing and sighing at the same time): "Ok, ok. Score Bobby Orr!"

(repeat all season long, regardless of which player actually scored, which team scored, or if the Bruins were even playing that night.)

Chicago Template Freebie

Today's digital scrapbooking freebie is the 4th installment in the new Major Cities of the World Template Series.

Here is the Chicago Template. The theme here, Art Deco, "was a popular international design movement from 1925 until 1939, affecting the decorative arts such as architecture, interior design, and industrial design, as well as the visual arts such as fashion, painting, the graphic arts, and film." (Art Deco)

Since Chicago of the 20's and 30's was a major player in determining the style and fashion of America I thought I would pay tribute to that here.

We took a trip to Chicago a few years ago and I just loved it there. Of course, it was in July. Let me go back in February and see if I feel the same way (since I live in Florida.) LOL

Today's Freebie: Paris Template

Thank you for all the positive feedback on the first two templates in the new Major Cities of the World Template Series!

Today's digital scrapbooking freebie is the Paris Template. This was certainly a template where I had to decide from a million choices for the design. I tried finding a man dressed in the old fashoined French peasant style with a striped shirt, but I couldn't find any good clipart that was in the public domain.

So you see the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffle Tower and a croissant on the template. I put a fancy frame to hint at the Louvre Museum.

This template can be used as a companion to my France template in the Countries of the World Template Series.

Orlando Template Freebie

I'm getting ready to say the most controversial thing I have ever put on my blog: there is more to Orlando than Disney World.

I am a big fan of Disney, but sometimes I feel bad for people who have come all the way to Orlando and can't find anything to scrap those OTHER photos with.
