More NASCAR Stuff

I was doing my usual digging around on the internet and came across this blog, Scrappin Alikat. Lo and behold, what did I find but more NASCAR stuff (without even looking.)

So here is a link to Camille's NASCAR stuff. This is just one page. Look around her site because she has more stuff to offer. Here is my NASCAR Collection and NASCAR Collection ADD On.
And please tell her I sent you. I'm getting ready to send her this link.

Colorado Template Freebie PLUS

With today's Colorado template freebie I am also adding an older template that I made using the outline of Pike's Peak. This template is called Mountain's Majesty.

Also, Rosa took my Mountain's Majesty template and made a quick page out of it, so I will add that here as well. I hope you have ALOT of pictures from Colorado! LOL

Freebie for Thursday: Arizona Template

The Arizona template is today's digital scrapbook freebie. Once again I went to the state flag and got my inspiration.

But as you see in my layout, that doesn't mean you have to use the colors that are on the flag if they don't match your layout. Be creative.

Look for the detailing in the word Arizona so that you don't fill the entire thing in with one color (unless that is what you want to do.)
Come back tomorrow for the Colorado template. Also, come back later today and I'll have more DIP conversions.

Some of Your Ideas

This came from pwb on 4 Shared.com :

Am just starting to download all of your state templates. I think this
would be a good teaching tool for children, to add pictures of things about the
state into the template, then add some text on the page. Thank you for doing all
of this.

And this came from another poster who signed in as Thank you so much:

pwb has a great idea, these templates would be great for homeschoolers, or
for parents to teach the kids about a place before a vacation. great templates,
thanks for sharing.

I hope you can make use of these templates! I really am enjoying making these!

More DIP Template Freebies

Here are some more State Template Series DIP conversions.

Freebie: Illinois Template

Hey there! Today I have the Illinois template for you. Once again this state was difficult to pin down for a template. Then I remembered Abe Lincoln and his log cabin.
Our trip to Illinois took us to Chicago. Although Abe doesn't really have anything to do with Chicago, I still tried to tie it in.
Keep in mind that most of these templates are for places all over the states they represent...not just one city. That's what they are really good for.

NASCAR Fans Check This Out

srussell has some neat NASCAR digiscrap stuff. I wish my kit was this professional! This is really nice.

There are templates:
and a themed kit:

Just be aware that these aren't freebies. However, since NASCAR stuff is so hard to find, you might consider checking this out.

Alaska Template Freebie

Number 27 in the State Template Series is the Alaska template.

You can use the individual crabs...either one or all of them...fior journaling.

Thanks for sending me your layouts to post. I wish I had one for each state, but even using my own layouts I don't have very many! :(

I was hoping to be able to post a collection of each state at the end of the series. So please get busy and send me your layouts!

Your Layouts!

This is a layout from Sharon Mehl using my Kansas template. She posted this at 3Scrapateers for their chat last night.

Here are her credits:

Kit: Fall Circles
Designer: DeDe Smith

This is really cool looking.

Tennessee Template is Today's Freebie

Hello. I've got the Tennessee Template for you today.

I didn't use any referecnes to Elvis in this template but if you would like to add him in your layout, I have my All Shook Up Kit Add On that includes a dancing Elvis.

I made this layout while I was watching Sergeant York, staring Gary Cooper. It was just time to make the Tennesse template, but it was weird becsause Sergeant York was from Tennessee! LOL

That is a super good film and a really cool story about a very famous WWI war hero. Gary Cooper does a great job in this movie.

Kristi Yamaguchi Trains at Raleigh Studio for 'Dancing With the Stars'

North Carolina resident and Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi has traded in her skates for dancing shoes.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Friday that the gold medalist is training at a Raleigh dance studio as she prepares for "Dancing With the Stars." The new season of the ABC
reality show begins March 17.
Yamaguchi said she's anxious. She's working with professional ballroom dancer Mark Ballas, and the two are starting with
the fox-trot during two-hour practice sessions. Ballas said he is helping Yamaguchi adjust her skater habits, such as learning to point her toes without constrictive skates.
Yamaguchi's husband, Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Bret
Hedican, said his wife has sacrificed a lot for him in the last four years, and
he is excited about being able to support her.

Rhode Island Template Freebie and an Egg

Ok, this Rhode Island template has been inspected and it it DOES contain an outline of the state! It also includes an egg shape that could techincally be considered part of my egg collection (which incluses my Christmas eggs, Sleigh Ride Collection and Parchment Package.)

In case you are wondering about the chickens in this template, there is a chicken called the Rhode Island red so I thought I'd use that as the theme. Just like the sunflowers in the Kansas template or the basketball goal and balls in the Indiana template, these chickens can be used for layouts other than ones of the state they are representing.

DUH!!! Here is the Michigan Template 2

Thanks to Lynn O'Neal for pointing out that the Michigan template didn't have a state outline either. It must have been created on the same day as the Maine template! LOL

Here is Michigan template 2. I am sorry again. Now my goal is to try to slow down enough to make sure there are no mistakes.

Checkered Flag Slide Mount Freebie

Although I mentioned my Slide Mount post when I posted my NASCAR Collection Add On freebie, it doesn't look like many of you read that far down in the post.

I thought I'd post a picture of the slide mount so you would see how well it will go with the NASCAR Collection and the add on.

I feel bad because I didn't offer that much in my quickly thrown together racing kits.

New Feature From Blogger

Check out this new feature from Blogger and Google called Grand Central. You can actually leave me a voicemail now to let me know how you feel about my freebies or if you just want to say "Go Dale Jr!" on racedays.

This appears to be pretty cool. I'm not 100% sure how I will use it, but just go to the sidebar under my profile information and click on the following icon:

Leave me a message! Thanks!

Maine Template 2 Freebie

Ok, I did it again. In my Maine template, I forgot to put the state outline. I guess I am trying to do them too quickly and I overlook things. Even when I did my own layout I didn't notice.

So here is the Maine Template 2 so that you can keep with the pattern of the other templates.

I apologize!

Freebie: Louisiana Template

Good morning! Here is the Louisiana template freebie for you.

Remember, when filling in the background and the frame element, use a low tolorance on your paint bucket tool so that you don't fill in completely and lose the details. It takes a little longer to fill in that way, but it really makes a difference.

Look for the Rhode Island template tomorrow.

Here is the Maine Template Freebie

Here is a template that brings back memories to me...we lived in Maine in the early 1990's, in Presque Isle, when my ex was an Army Recruiter there. It is a very beautiful place. But, it is also VERY cold! LOL

Download the Maine template here.

Your Layouts!

Here is a layout from makeyesup using part of my Alabama template. See her post at Make It Scrappy, where she explains the inspiration for her work and gives all the designer credits.

Thanks for sharing your work!

Freebie: Michigan Template

Number 23 in the State Template Series, the Michigan template, is ready for downloading.

Sorry, but at this time of the morning I'm not in a real chatty mood! I'm just trying to get this thing uploaded before I have to leave for work.

Thanks again to The Ephemeral Victorian for the use of the stamp and stamp edging.

Look for the Maine template tomorrow.

Massachusetts Template is Today's Freebie

As we keep moving along in the State Template Series, I now have the Massachusetts template to offer.

The fife and drum clipart in today's template was found at Kooker Kids. I could not find a copyright on it or terms of usage. It is actually a downloadable coloringbook page. I do not claim it as my own.

I always try in good faith to adhere to the terms of usuage of any clipart or fonts I find. So far, almost all the fonts I have been using are freeware. If you ever run across anything you think isn't being used correctly, please email me and I'll do something to set it straight right away.

State Template Freebie: Missouri

Here is the State Template Series freebie for today: the Missouri template.
This is number 21 in the series. Tomorrow's template will be Massachusetts.

Thanks for all the kind words and comments you have been leaving about the templates. Some of them I like better than others, but you have something nice to say about all of them.

NASCAR Collection Add On Freebie

Here is the NASCAR Collection Add on. This kit contains 2 more papers, an overlay, a badge, a checkered flag heart and a Dale Jr. #8 alphabet (for all those older pictures.)

A quick note to all of those who have asked for elements of their favorite driver: I just quickly threw these 2 kits together (as is obvious by the small amount of contents of each collection.) I used 2 of my favorite drivers (Dale Jr and Juan Pablo Montoya) and a couple of very popular drivers that I don't "dislike."

I wish I could do something for everyone, but this is it for now. I am still hard at work on the State Template Series. Maybe sometime in the future I can get back to this collection.

You can always make a paper or something for your driver. I just got the number and then used the pattern option of my paint bucket to make the numbered papers. It's really easy.

Please check out my Slide Mounts post from a few weeks ago because it has a checkered flag slide mount in it that will go great with this NASCAR Collection and NASCAR Collection Add On.
Come back later today for the Missouri template.

Ryan Newman

Congratulations to Ryan Newman for winning the 50th Daytona 500. He's on my "neutral" list, which means he's not one of my favorites, but he's not one of the drivers I can't stand. I'm glad he won instead of some other drivers I won't mention! LOL
Dale Jr. finished 9th, which is a solid top 10 finish to start the year with. He got bonus points for leading as well. He was the top Hendrick driver (Johnson 27th. Mears 37th, Gordon 39th.)
Well it is on to Fontana next week.
Look for the NASCAR Collection Add On tomorrow. Sorry, no Newman. Who knew?! LOL

Sunday Night DIP State Template Freebies

Here are the rest of the State Template Series DIP conversions until I hear from Lisa again.

NASCAR Collection Freebie

Here is a quickly put together collection with a NASCAR theme. I'll have the second part of the NASCAR Collection avaliable tomorrow.

A friendly reminder...this is not a forum to bad mouth other drivers. I will keep my negative opinions to myself and I hope that you will respect others who comment here and keep the driver bashing off this site.

So, having said that, have fun commenting about YOUR drivers or the kits or the race. Negative or hateful comments will be removed.

Here is the NASCAR Collection. If you don't see something you like here, then check out the NASCAR Collection Add On tomorrow. Today includes Juan Pablo Montoya, Dale Jr, Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon.

State Template Series Back: Kansas Template Freebie

Thanks for your patience yesterday while I shared my Daytona Template with race fans. Today the State Template Series returns with a new entry, the Kansas Template.

It is the 20th template in the series, so if you don't have them all just keep scrolling back thru the posts. The first post was the North Carolina template on January 27th.

Also, later this afternoon when I get back from work I will be posting the NASCAR Collection I mentioned yesterday. This kit contains papers, badges, a JR alphabet (1 out of 2) and a neat flag element.

Then on Monday you'll get the add on package. So be sure to come back today!

Also, I will offer the next State Template Series DIP conversions later tonight.

Enjoy the race today and congratulations to Tony Stewart for winning the Nationwide (I'll always call it Busch) Series race yesterday. I missed the race but saw Jr finished 3rd despite the "impounded" race car. Will be interesting to see exactly what the crew cheif was thinking there!

Oh well, five other cars were deemed illegal following qualifying, and their lap times were disallowed. Looks like they have a problem all around.

Saturday's DIP Template Freebies

Lisa and I have 2 more DIP conversions of my State Template Series. Tonight you'll get the following:

Come back tomorrow for more!

Daytona Template Freebie

If you came here looking for the State Template Series, you ARE in the right place. However, today I'm taking a break from the state templates to offer a Daytona Template since tomorrow is the 50th running of the Daytona 500.

I am offering this template for all those Alabama digi scrappers who wrote to tell me that YES, THEY WERE NASCAR FANS TOO!

This template is very versitle. I opted to use only photos and no journaling. You can use one or more of the flags for journaling, or you can darken the overlay and use the cars for journaling (or photos.)
Tomorrow I will be back to the State Template Series and will have Kansas to offer. I will also have a NASCAR Collection and NASCAR Collection Add On in the next few days. Look for drivers like Dale Jr., Gordon, Stewart and Juan Pablo Montoya in these kits.

I'm still pulling for Dale Earnhardt Jr., but I figure he's used up his wins for one weekend! But that won't stop me from cheering him on! GO DALE JR, GO!!!!!

DIP Downloads

Lisa has sent me more state templates in DIP format.

Come back tomorrow for some more.

Thanks again, Lisa!

Sad News!

My favorite hockey player, Rod Brind'Amour of the Carolina Hurricanes will be out of the line up 4 to 6 months after suffering a torn ACL in last night's 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Raleigh, NC.

Rod is captian of the team and is a supurb player, having won the Selke Trophy in back-to-back years (2006 and 2007.) The Selke Trophy is an annual award given to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game.

In December 2006, he scored his 1000th career point and in February 2007, he recorded his 400th career goal.

The Hurricanes are currently in first position in the Southeast Divison. Brind'Amour will miss the rest of the season.

The Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup in 2006.

Friday Freebie: Maryland Template

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day yesterday.

This morning I have another state template for you. This is the Maryland template. The idea for this design came from the state's flag. I remember watching NC State basketball games (like the 1974 ACC Championship game in tripple OT) and seeing the cheerleaders running around with the flag of Maryland.

The flag is such an eyechatching design that I decided to use it as an overlay in the template. Remember, you can always darken or lighten the overlay as desired.

JR JR JR

Yeah!!! Dale Dr just won the first Gatorade Duel Race! All that means is we have to wait until the second race is run and then we'll get the starting order for Sunday's 50th Daytona 500.

Valentine's Day Bonus Alphabet Freebie

In addition to today's State Template Series freebie, Washington Template, I'm offering a BONUS freebie since it is Valentine's Day.

Be kind, this was one of my very first designs so it is a little primative! LOL I held this for Valentine's Day because everybody does hearts...I wanted to do something a little different. Roses Are Red Alphabet.

I hope you like it! Gotta go...racing's coming on! Go Junior!!!!

Freebie for Toady is the Washington Template

Good morning everyone! Time for today's State Template Series freebie. Here is the Washington template.

Washington state is one place I have always wanted to live. It is so green and beautiful there. And I am one who doesn't mind a little rain. I love cool rainy days beside a wood burning fireplace!

Hint: the trees on this evergreen state template should be filled in with a low tolerance on your paint can tool. If you'd rather fill them in with a pattern, you should be able to do the same thing you would with a color fill. By using a 1 or a 2 on your paint can, you can fill in smaller sections. Be artistic (and patient) as you play around with the trees!

And look for a BONUS Valentine's Day freebie later this afternoon! See you then!
